Manual Work

The Problem

Running a dropshipping store in New Zealand meant juggling ten different suppliers, every one with its own catalog, format, and way of working. That fragmentation created hours of manual work every day.

The founder manually re-entered each vendor's products into the Shopify store, rebuilt the same categories over and over, and kept pricing and stock roughly in sync by hand. When a customer ordered, someone had to copy the order details, find the right vendor, place the purchase order on that vendor's portal, wait for a tracking number, and paste it back into Shopify.

With 10 vendors and dozens of orders a day, this broke down: products went out of stock on the store, categories mismatched, tracking numbers arrived late, and every sale carried a hidden cost of admin time.

  • Ten separate vendor catalogs had to be synced into one store by hand
  • Categories and mappings were rebuilt manually and kept drifting
  • Every order required manual copy-paste into the correct vendor portal
  • Tracking numbers and fulfillment updates were entered back into Shopify by hand
  • Costly admin time scaled with every new order and every new supplier

The Solution We Built

We built an end-to-end automation layer that turns the dropshipping store into a single, self-running system. Each of the 10 vendors is connected through its own integration (API, CSV feed, or webhook), so products flow into Shopify automatically with categories mapped once.

The order side is fully automated. When a customer order lands in Shopify, the system identifies the correct vendor for each line item, creates the purchase order, passes the customer and shipping details across, and opens a two-way link between the vendor and the store. When the vendor ships, tracking is captured automatically and returned to Shopify so the customer sees a real tracking number without anyone touching it.

  • Automatic product and price sync from all 10 vendors into the store
  • One-time category and variant mapping, applied to every incoming feed
  • Incoming Shopify orders route to the right vendor automatically
  • Purchase orders, shipping details, and tracking flow back without copy-paste
  • Stock and order status stay consistent between vendor and store
  • The founder now runs the same volume with a fraction of the admin time
